And the reviews. . . have been edited!

See, a little helpful editing can turn a so-so review, into a GREAT review!

Reston
Players' 'Forever Plaid'
If June Cleaver and Harriet Nelson are your idea of desperate housewives, and if you linger for a few extra moments in elevators just for the music, then the Reston Community Players have got a show for you. Everyone [ ] will [ ] enjoy the tight four-part harmonies and the corny comedy before, during and after the songs. Veterans *Vig deBoeuf, baritone, and *Jinx the second, tenor, who have performed their roles in previous area productions of the show, lead tenor *Sparky Jr. and [ ] *Smudge the third nicely through their paces. Jinx serves as choreographer. The singing is flawless, the harmonies rich and full. There is a great deal of complicated comedy material, usually timed to the split second. They perform it perfectly and earn hearty laughs. Each singer gets to flesh out his "character" as they go about their business, which includes a show-stopping re-creation of "The Ed Sullivan Show" that encapsulates everything you may remember of the show's regular guests and routines. The bit is a frenzy of props and impersonations, while Jinx sings "Lady of Spain." It's uproariously funny. An opening weekend performance generated loud applause - {AND A STANDING OVATION!}

Epilogue WATCH

(There are a few more memories I want to get down before I forget, but I can't get to it right now. When I get them done, they'll be in the chronological order below.)

It was a wonderful night. The show I'’m doing now Forever Plaid is about recognizing that each of us has a wonderful life, at one point saying that all anyone can ask for in life is "“one perfect moment"”, and that "“we'’ve had more than our share."”

I was working on finding the emotional connection with the speech, and I think I found it. At just the right moment, I stop and think hard of all the perfect moments in my life.

The newest perfect moment in my life was singing "“I Believe My Own Eyes" at the WATCH Awards.

Well, it worked. I made the emotional connection last night. Almost shed a real tear even. Maybe tonight I'’ll get there.

Tonight is dress rehearsal. And I can'’t wait. I am my own wild card. I have this funny paragraph to say, (Joey - it's the one in "Moments": "The drive in movie, where we'd go; and somehow never watch the show") and before I finished the first sentence our preview audience started laughing and giggling. . . and so did I! And I kept laughing through most of the rest of the song. . . oh no.

Then, I sang the second verse to "“Matilda"” twice.

It's live, baby, l.i.v.e. LIVE!

Ah, it's a wonderful life.

All the best,
Vig
